Hello, I’m Iddo

I know Israel inside and out. For years I’ve been guiding and lecturing, learning and teaching about this extraordinary land, its culture and history.

Tour with me and fall in love with Israel and its heritage, through an educational approach of both realistic and traditional perspectives, using humor and sensitivity along the way. My adjusted approach suits all ages and group structures, countries, religions and backgrounds.

My Background

I’m a 7th generation born Israeli, raised to love this land, its beauty and history.

After my military service, I graduated Bar-Ilan University with degrees in land of Israel Studies, Geography and Biology.

I followed my passions to become an archaeologist, and was licensed by Israel’s Ministry of Tourism to become a tour guide.

In 2002, and for 3 years, I was sent to America from Israel with my wife and three children, to work for the Jewish agency. As the executive director of Aliyah Center in New York, I helped people realize their dreams of Aliyah.

My knowledge and expertise allowed me the privilege to lecture at the Schools of Tour Guides at Bar Ilan University and at the Ministry of Tourism.
Learning to speak Hebrew, English and Chinese (Mandarin), I also lectured widely throughout Israel, the United States and China.

As an Archaeologist

I’m a member of the Archaeological Sites Marketing Committee, a department of the National Parks Authority in Israel.

As a part of my PhD, I started (2018) the forth excavations season at Kursi Beach, a Jewish port city on the eastern bank of the Sea of Galilee.

I have also been the area manager on archaeological excavation sites, including the famous site at Shiloh.

Other Qualifications

As the Head of the East Asia Department at the Israel School of Tourism (by Haifa University), I lead Israeli tour guides in Chinese language and culture studies.

Combining my wide knowledge of Israel’s history and archaeology with my technical expertise, I have created a series of multimedia presentations of biblical archaeology.

The presentations incorporate biblical texts with archaeology and geography of ancient and modern Israel, and were showcased as I’ve lectured around the world.

With an experience of over 30 years of guiding and teaching, I strive to infuse my tourists and audience with love to Israel and its heritage.
